Dear Fellow Chaine Members:

      I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!  I have been in contact with several restaurants and have a lot of great events planned for 2006.  Our next event will be at Darrel and Oliver from Café Maxx’s other restaurant, East City Grill.  Chef Oliver Saucy and Chef William C. Ludwig have been working diligently on the menu and I think they arrived at a spectacular one.  Since this event is two days before Valentine’s Day, feel free to dress in Valentine colors.  Space is limited so I will accept members and one guest first and if there is still space available I will take extra guests.

      There is also a bill for the Fort Lauderdale Chaine Chapter local dues enclosed in this mailing. Please send in your check for $65.00 for members and associate members whether you are attending this event or not.  This will assure that you will not miss any of our invitations or events.  Those of you who just joined after September will not have to pay at this time.

      I would like to thank Steve Wallach for filling in as my temporary Chargé de Press.  The article he wrote for the Bainbridge dinner was excellent and I think it will show prominently in Grastronome.  I would also like to thank Mark Stern, my Vice Enchanson, for a superb pairing of the wines for the Bainbridge Dinner.  Lastly, I would like to thank Jerry Rosenthal, my Vice Chancelier-Argentier and Chef Per Jacobsen, my Vice Conseiller Culinaire for all of their guidance and expertise on the Bainbridge event.
